Quiet?

It's just after 6 am, I don't sleep much these days. Have you ever noticed it's never really truly quiet? I mean there's a sense of quiet after everyone's in bed, but even then it's not really quiet. If I lean back and close my eyes this is what I hear:

the birds singing in our trees.
my dogs snoring
the occassional movement of Miss Scarlett in her cage
the radio in my brother's room
my chair creak when I move
my computer tower humming
the voices in my head, worrying about things that don't truly matter
my heart beat
the sump pump shutting off
the heater coming on
rain softly hitting the sky light
the house making it's usual creaks & groans

This is the kind of thing that plagues my mind at 6 am. LOL

If you are having trouble sleeping, eat a tablespoon of peanut butter and a half a cup of milk. The doctor said warm milk, but I really like my milk ice cold.
I didn't believe it, but I tried it because I was having so much trouble shutting my mind down so I could rest even, much less sleep, and you know what? It worked. I don't remember why, but the peanut butter and milk are doing the trick.
Hugs,
pat
